Budget 2019 message from Cllr Richard Wenham - Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Resources at Central Bedfordshire Council.
Budget 2019 Consultation
I am writing to inform you that today we are starting our consultation on the draft budget proposals. This process will run until 5pm on 29th January and will be widely promoted through our digital and conventional communication channels.
Although the proposals are subject to Executive approval next Tuesday, we want to give residents as much time as possible to have their say on the proposals, therefore we are opening the consultation for feedback from today.
A consultation document has been produced to summarise the key elements of both the draft revenue and capital budgets. Additionally, a questionnaire will invite feedback on the savings strategy and the proposed 1% increase in council tax. The questionnaire also tests residents' response to a possible 2% increase, although this isn't what we are planning it would allow us to invest more in our services.
Information will be available online at
Feedback from the consultation will be collated and presented to the February Executive, in advance of decision making on the finalised budget which will be recommended to Full Council.
With thanks and kind regards
Cllr Richard Wenham
Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Resources at Central Bedfordshire Council.
