WW1 Commemoration Event

A weekend of poetry, art and drama to commemorate the end of the First World War
Date(s) - 10/11/2018 - 11/11/2018 Time: - 12:00 - 16:00

We would like to invite you or your organisation to take part in the Clophill Heritage Trust WW1 Commemoration Event.

2018 marks 100 years since the end of the First World War.

To commemorate this event Clophill Heritage Trust will be holding a Remembrance Event

There will be an art installation in the Ancient Monument, and children & adults are invited to come and add a poppy or cross to this.
They can be plain or show the name of someone who served in the war.

We will have poetry readings throughout the day and you are welcome to read out an original poem, or a work of one of the war poets.
If you would like a spot to read, please contact us 07935 911207 or info@clophillecolodges.co.uk

Our cafe will be open serving light lunches & refreshments.

Why not walk up to the lodges after St Mary’s Church Service on Sunday 11th; see the displays and have a tea or coffee.

If you are part of a local group you are invited to submit a poppy, piece of poetry or both to be added to our original art installation commemorating the end of the 1st World War.

We would love for your members to attend the Remembrance Day and read out their own poems or the works of other war poets.

The English Gardner Theatre Company will also be performing a dramatisation around the installation highlighting different aspects of War.
Individuals can dress up for the event or wear medals or items of family members.

Poppies, crosses, badges etc. will be on sale at The Eco Lodges from the beginning of October (all proceeds go to The Royal British Legion).
We can also add family or group names to the wooden crosses.

Please contact us on 07935 911207 or email info@ClophillEcoLodges.co.uk to register your interest.

The Eco Lodge café will be open for light lunches & refreshments.
